Psychiatric Evaluations

Typically require two to three 50 minute sessions to complete an evaluation:

1) Session One : 50 minute appointment with the parents only.

2) Session Two: appointment with the patient (sometimes including some time with one or both parents). Depending on the complexity of the case it may be possible to complete the evaluation at this session.

If the pharmacogenetic testing is indicated it will be done/obtained during the second session  and a third appointment will be necessary in order to review the results. 

3) Session Three: finalizing interviews with patient and family, reviewing previous records. Dr. Frischtak will discuss her impressions of your child’s condition, her recommendations in terms of treatment plan and the benefits and risks of the recommended treatment impressions including diagnosis and treatment plan. 

4) Second Opinion

If the evaluation is a second opinion and/or if there are extensive prior medical and/or psychiatric records, legal records or educational records, Dr Frischtak may suggest to schedule a single 90 minute double session for interviewing patient and parents then schedule a “third” 50 minute session to complete the evaluation. 

Follow ups

Once the initial evaluation is completed and a treatment plan is discussed and agreed with follow up appointments will be scheduled at regular intervals.

1)   20-25 minute follow up appointments

2)   45 minute follow up appointments
